…and how far should you go to protect your brand?
New domain names are available to purchase now. Over the next 2 years further domain names will be released. We’ve had a few clients contact us worried about protecting their online brand.
The new domain names are in the following format (here are just a few examples);
| .london | .company | .marketing | .club |
| .agency | .sexy | .agency | .expert |
| .zone | .boutique | .foundation |
But how far do you go to protect your business online?
In total there are over 1000 new domain names being released, so, unless you’re very well off (note: check down the back of the couch), you’re not going to be able to register them all.
If you’re over-the-moon or concerned about these new domain names our advice to you is this – at least be aware of what’s happening.
Make an informed decision as to which new domain names are relevant for your business.
New Domain Name FAQs
Q. Why all the fuss – what’s wrong with .co.uk and .com?
A. Previously there were 22 generic TLD’s (Top Level Domains) like .co.uk, .com and .net etc. Basically we were running out of domain names, hence the release of hundreds more.
These new domain names give your business more flexibility. If you’re a florist why not choose a .florist TLD, rather than a boring .co.uk?
Q. When are these new domain names available to buy?
A. Some are ready to buy now, with more being released over the next two years.
Q. Can cre8 .supply these for on my behalf?
A. Certainly, we manage hundreds of domain names for our clients. We take care of registration and renewals (so you don’t forget!), and we also include DNS management and general support.
