We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Apprentice to join our established and growing marketing agency based in Leigh, Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to start a marketing career, with real responsibility and potential to progress to a permanent role at the end of your apprenticeship.

Our clients include businesses and schools based in Wigan, Leigh and across the wider north west. Your role will support our content marketing functions in particular, developing your knowledge and skills in the fast-moving world of digital and social marketing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Social media set-up and management (including writing content, populating accounts and continuing engagement) for clients and our own business, including daily use of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+
  • Production and management of social media advertising campaigns for clients
  • Researching and writing blog content to meet search engine optimisation requirements
  • Communicating regularly with clients to discuss social media and blog content themes
  • Regular review of clients’ website content
  • Planning and writing email marketing campaigns for clients
  • Working closely with team members to progress and manage ongoing projects for which you have day-to-day responsibility
  • Communicating client briefs accurately and effectively to the rest of the team
  • Researching client prospects, campaign themes and targeting for our own business
  • Developing and preparing marketing campaigns for our business (including direct mail, email and social media campaigns and tele-marketing)
  • Monitoring social media and digital trends and applying these where possible
  • Search engine optimisation management and maintenance (including key word research, updating metatitles and descriptions and basic landing page content)
  • Search engine optimisation reporting and analysis for clients
  • Basic content updates for our own website
  • Some involvement in events and promotional activities
  • General office administration

You will have:

  • Excellent written communication skills, understanding how to produce content optimised for digital and search engine performance
  • Excellent presentation, friendliness and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience in using Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good attention to detail, taking the time to check everything that you do
  • Excellent teamwork skills and be willing to participate in all aspects of the business
  • Some experience of using the main social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+
  • Preferably some experience of using WordPress blogs
  • A basic understanding of search engine optimisation and performance
  • A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the needs of clients and our business
  • Responsibility for, and management of, your own workload
  • Good organisation skills with good time-keeping and reliability
  • A positive, helpful and enthusiastic attitude
  • A desire to pursue a career in digital and/or content marketing

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more GCSEs grades A – C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
  • ‘AS’ or ‘A’ Levels in at least one business or marketing-related subject preferred
  • Full UK driving licence and use of own car is an advantage

Position Details:

  • Full-time (35 hrs a week)
  • 1 day a week at college
  • Level 3 Diploma Digital Marketing/Social Media
  • Our office is located 10 minutes’ walk from Leigh town centre
  • On-site parking available
  • Salary £8-10k pa depending on experience
